Training Services

Since 1993, ALP International has been a Certified Training Provider (CTP) for HP Mercury software products, including QuickTest Professional, Quality Center, LoadRunner, and WinRunner. Our staff of certified instructors take the time to ensure each student understands the concepts and can apply them to their daily projects. When more assistance is needed beyond the course, ALPI is available to assist students with a number of post-training resources, including QuickStarts, consulting, and refresher courses. In addition, we have offerings that can help build one's career and value to their organization, such as an internationally recognized software tester certification workshop. HP Mercury Courseware ALPI offers training by certified instructors for state-of-the-art software testing tools from HP Mercury. In addition to the standard course offerings, we have supplemented our course catalog with advanced courses to further enhance the software tester and administrator's level of knowledge. Process and Certification Classes ALPI offers software testing certifications from the internationally recognized, vendor independent, American Software Testing Qualifications Board (ASTQB). This program is the only internationally accepted certification for software testing, accredited by the ISTQB™ through its network of National Boards. Previously, ALPI offered the ISEB certification program which is equivalent to, and also accredited by, the ISTQB™. By becoming an ISTQB certified tester, you will distinguish yourself as someone who knows how to apply those software testing techniques. We have designed the Foundation and Advanced certification programs to help you identify yourself to your employers and clients as a true test professional — one who studies the field, applies fundamental and sophisticated test techniques, and understands the important issues. As a software test professional, you will be qualified to help project and technology managers make important decisions that balance quality, feature, schedule, and budget considerations. As a software test professional, you will be able to detect defects that others miss and save your employers and clients from costly and embarrassing field failures. At both the Foundation Level and the Advanced Level the programs supporting the ISTQB™ Certified Tester bridge the gap between research, standard training and industry practice. Refresher You have the opportunity to re-take any same course at ALPI for FREE within four months of the original class date! Contact us for details and restrictions. QuickStart This short-term program (usually 3-5 days) has one of our trainers/consultants work directly with you at your job site helping you create and debug scripts. The idea is to transition the concepts of what you learned in training to the software you are responsible for testing and automating. Consulting Our consulting services vary as much as your projects do. We can help you setup and begin the automation process, come in and automate your existing manual tests, provide you with an Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) team. It's all based on what YOU need — a day, a week, a month or more! Software Testing Forum Join the National Capital Area Software Testing Forum to learn and share best practices for software testing.
